While working on the DML users' manual (#303) and, in particular, trying to write a worked example, it became clear that there were some things that were going to be awkward to describe and that I might as well just fix to make them easier to use. Among these:
Allowing (and possibly preferring) | in addition to : for injections.
Showing sensor targets on the monitor screen (and having them update when the targets update).
Along with this, being able to ask a pad for the sensors that point at it.
Adding w : require(4 drops of buffer) to simplify setting up wells.
Empties the well if the reagent is wrong.
Checks to see if there's already enough.
Transfers in what's needed if there isn't.
This means that the requirements can be put in the protocol itself, and you don't have to worry about re-running a protocol.
Streamlining injections into functions that take a single argument by not requiring the parens.
In other words, allowing the last example to simply be w : require 4 drops of buffer.
