I assume we are talking of feature detection method. We currently have 'experimental, 'predicted', or 'infered' has high level terms. Why not using 'experimental' instead of adding predetermined?
Do I understand correctly the request?

Correct.

we already do have 'predetermined' for 'participant identification method' so it shouldn't hurt here ?

Some features, both experimental and biological can be predetermined - ie the presence of a given affinity tag is predetermined; the presence of a certain deletions is predetermined (say, dictated by some technical issues - like problems with expression), etc. the proposed 'predetermined feature' term would address such situations instead of resorting to 'full identification by sequencing'
