There are cases when the fluorophore (ie the fluorescent
part of a molecule) is neither an experimentaly added label/dye nor introduced through mutation - native tryptophanes are often used in such a role.
'fluorophore' term added as a child of experimental feature would allow to consistently annotate fluorescence-based experiments.
It would be also useful to create 'fluorescent dye label' term as a child of both 'dye label' and 'fluorophore' with the specific dye labels currently present in the CV moved into the new 'fluorescent dye label' category (as all of them are actually fluorescent
labels)
The proposed addition/changes would make it much easier to programmatically process/analyse the results of fluorescence-basd experiemnts (FRET, in particular)
