An assay (child of enzymatic reaction) that characterizes transfer of electrons between interacting molecules. Whereas methods used to detect the transfer might vary (UV/VIS spectroscopy is common, also EPR) the comon feature are electrons moving between interactors. Se eg PMID: 18799738
