SILAC (Stable Isotope Labeling by Amino acids in Cell culture) can be used to detect
features (typically PTMs) required for a given interaction - see, for example PMID: 2223140
The method is different then mass detection of residue modification (ID: MI:0068) as the
modified protein is not the one subjected to MS; rather, SILAC methodology is used to compare
the effect of PTM presence/absence on binding of the isotopically labeled preys
