New term: de adp ribosylation #338

Closed noedelta closed 8 years ago

noedelta commented 11 years ago

Enzymatic reaction (and corresponding enzymatic assay) inverse to the already existing MI:0557 (adp ribosylation).

See examples in PMID:23474714 & PMID:23474712

The "de-ADP-ribosylation", really mono-ADP-ribosylhydrolase activities, are not the inverse reactions of ADP-ribosylation reactions. ADP-ribosylation utiliizes NAD(+) to attach the ADP-ribosyl group and liberate nicotinamide which is quickly scavenged, making that reaction thermodynamically irreversible in vivo. These "de-ADP-ribosylation" reactions are simple hydrolytic reactions that release ADP-ribose, not NAD(+).

Can't agree more - a formally correct(ed) version would be more then welcome.

MI:1309 - detection method/MI:1310 - interaction type. i've used John's definition.
