Biopax has cofactor as a participant property defined like this : "Any cofactor(s) or coenzyme(s) required for catalysis of the conversion by the enzyme. COFACTOR is a sub-property of PARTICIPANTS." Fine for me to have it in CV biological role but we to make clear the distinction with the requested term 'additional' (bridge molecule) in CV experimental role needed for the 3 hybrid method. Cofactor plays a definite enzymatic active role, a bridge molecule is passive.

Probably a Biological rather than experimental role.
Also need to consider the role played by small molecules which change during a reaction e.g. ATP during a kinase reaction donating a phosphate. Not really a neutral component under those circumstances - have BioPax appropriate terms we can use.
