Functional Requirements

Updated priorities by WANG Feng according to the weekly meeting 2016/8/16

  1. BGwaaS, including Traffic Control as a Service(WANaaS With rate limiter, first priority),WANaaS(lower priority) Research the use of OpenStack service chaining (Internal review Sep 22 - Done) Design review with HQ - Sep 29
  2. OVS Cache optimization. We’ve be challenged a lot about having no optimization on data plane, so it’s the best if we can integrate this optimization into hybrid cloud solution. Review Sep 20 - Done Design review with HQ - Sep 29
  3. Distributed local SNAT on Hybrid Cloud https://github.com/Hybrid-Cloud/hybrid_cloud/issues/113

Implementing an open source solution based on the reviewed HLD (OpenStack Neutron patch). Blue Print ready. AWS local NAT demo - Sep 29

  4. Windows support (Bumbuk agent). Agentless solution is not needed if bumbuk can solve windows support problem. HLD ready. Next step will be discussed during TMG meeting.

    Bambuk agent: https://github.com/Hybrid-Cloud/hybrid_cloud/issues/114

  5. Hyper Network Services: FWaaS, LBaaS, VPNaaS. Part of Service chaining research (See "1").
  6. SSHaaS. There is no commitment in charter. SOCKS proxy based solution Review Sep 20 - Done
  7. CDNaaS. No resources to start
  8. Global FIP. (TBD after TMG review.) No resources to start

    Non-Functional Requirements

Collected by WANG Feng from early discussion instead of Charter

  1. Performance: Reduce hyper network incurred latency from 30% to 10~20%
  2. Scalability: Improve scalability x100, aim for infinite scalability model, for the above services
  3. Overhead (TCO reduction): Reduce Hybrid Cloud infrastructure overheads (CPU, Disk, Memory) to <5%
