For what it is worth,
The following application uses the android-youtubeExtractor I think
Awesome popup video.

and google allows the app to say. I have yet to see an ad on any of the videos it plays from youtube though.
Also, technically would it be illegal to put webkit/webcore in an application and stream video from the URL instead of the api and allow for the video to play in background. that is not illegal because the application is not using the api but the webserice(URL) instead. Mozilla does this. just thinking out loud.

Are you sure your library ain't violating youtube's t&c? Is it fine (legally) to use this app for accessin' youtube videos offline?
