Howdy, fellow habitian, Chrome extension's not working #105

Open Sapsality opened 10 years ago

Installed it yesterday and adjusted it for my needs. The icon is still grey and when I reloaded chrome, a message appeared from habitrpg extension: "Warning! Your api/uuid keys are wrong, or the server is down".

I doublechecked it, everything is correct. Help me, Obi-wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.

UPD: forgot to mention. When i click on the extension icon, it updates the info about my character. Gold, experience, to-dos, it shows everything correctly. It simply doesnt do anything else :)

Hey, guys, anyone here?

two7sclash-zz commented 10 years ago

Same here...

mhnsn commented 10 years ago

Same problem for me. It's a pain, because my main source of points was from productive hours at work.

Hey guys, alas that this repo isn't well supported. We plan to jump back in after mobile has stabilized, but in the meantime we could use some contribs if anyone's handy

mhnsn commented 10 years ago

I might be able to help a bit, but I'm super busy. What's it built on?

It's vanilla Chrome Extension JS https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/getstarted . TMK (it was rewritten after my initial v1), it's not using any special libs save jQuery, so that link should be all needed to know. @goldbattle took a stab at it in recent times and might be able to shed more light

goldbattle commented 10 years ago

It has a lot of overly complicated code that takes a while to dig through. I was thinking of doing a bit of rewrite. The best bet would to start from the chrome code first, and then work up from that to the core event code etc.

Hey guys, could you check if this is fixed after the last update of the extension?

MercuryChaos commented 9 years ago

I'm having a problem that's somewhat similar to this one - sometimes when I try to restart the extension after putting it in break mode, it'll get stuck as "inactive", even after I close and restart Chrome. The only thing that seems to get it unstuck is removing and reinstalling the extension.

I am too facing this issue and it seems that this has not been fixed up yet.
