Group Task Board #787

It would be nice to be able to access the group task board from the menu on the mobile app.

I could not find any trello card or other issue showing that this feature is in development, is that correct?

If suitable I might be interested in contributing on this feature, even though if it just ends up as a prototype.

We have plans for adding group plan support in the app in the near future, but are not yet working on that.

Unfortunately we also don't yet have designs for this, so right now would not be a good time for contributions on this feature. We can update the issue once we have more informatin.

This would be extremely useful for my group. We are a family, and we really want to use the group tasks feature, but my wife avoids the computer.

I assume it would mostly be a copy job from the regular tasks views, with a few changes to the edit dialogs. Does that sound reasonable? Could it be enough to get someone started?

I would work on this, except I don't know Objective C or Swift, let alone iOS. I am looking into doing it for Android, though.

@MeanderingCode Group task boards are a little more complicated than that when you start digging into them. Because of this and the fact we're currently reworking groups on web, we're reserving group plan implementation for full-time staff on all platforms.

@saraolson Where is the discussion and work happening for that? I have found https://github.com/HabitRPG/habitica/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+group+task+label%3A%22section%3A+Group+Plans%22 and the Trello board doesn't seem to have a dedicated card for it (and for some reason the search is not working for me).

we're almost done with a major group interactivity and feature redo on the web version of habitica that will hopefully make groups easier to implement and support on all platforms. once that's out (soon), we'll be continuing work on mobile w/ a goal of releasing in the fall.

MVP support: view and check off tasks, view group details and members.

we may not support task creation or editing, viewing/changing owner billing info, or member promotion/demotion at first release. will see how the first iteration goes.

Is there any plan still for adding the ability to create group tasks in iOS? I know the functionality exists in the Android version which makes it annoying to use in groups with both since some of them can create tasks and some people cannot.
