iOS version at least for Bible... #26

There are already apps on iOS for daily readings and mass but not for AELF Bible. I think we could discuss the question about going to iOS 🤔❓💭

The Hackmychurch association can pay for the dev account if needed.

This is certainly something we can discuss. However, to be honest, I have very few spare time and no Apple coding skills so that I would personally not be able to help on this project.

On the technical side, starting with the Bible is certainly a good idea. Should we then decide to add the hourly prayers, the server side of the application could be re-used to avoid effort duplication.

Since last september HackMyBible, there is a little group of coders that meet up every month in Paris. Maybe you could engage some of them (no promises on that). Next one will be on April 18th, I'll be there and we will talk about next HackMyBible that will happen during Congrès Mission in september.

yadutaf commented 5 years ago

Oh ! This sounds good ! Do you have dates for the "Congrès Mission" ? I wont be able to attend on the 18th of April however, I live in Toulouse...

yamartin commented 5 years ago

Last week end of september. Everything is not set up yet. (Other HackMyBible events are on the list this year or later in africa, south america, asia and other european countries... it you want to travel...)

nathanael-h commented 5 years ago

Very good news !! Last I year I had to choose between Congrés Mission or Hack My Bible 😄 For the moment I do not have time to work on that, just to discuss it. Thanks @yamartin for offering to pay. Let's talk about that later, after we've started to developp iOS app.

I think I could try to create a simple bible app based on a webview, like I did for Android. Not immedialty, but during this spring.

I won't be able to come in Paris for the 18th of april, I live in Bretagne. Nevertheless, maybe we could schedule a phone (or video) call during the event next week ?

Hello everyone, I have a POC of a running iOS Bible app. Here is the code : https://github.com/nath5394/aelf-ionic It is built with ionic, cordova, html, js/ts, css. I tried to do this in Swift (iOS native), but the challenge is too big for me for now. I can transfer the project to HackMyChurch and we could think about releasing a beta version. What do you think of that @yadutaf and @yamartin ? Here is a demo : https://huit.re/AELF-ionic-demo-1

Hello @yamartin, what do you think about my last message ?

Hello everyone, last month I worked on this project : https://gitlab.com/nathanael2/aelf-flutter would you mind to take a look at it ?
