implement CMS integration for easily editable content #230

By implementing Strapi we might need to use the self hosted version I assume as free tier.

We can also use netlify CMS which is completely free and already hosted

KevinTss commented 1 year ago

@danielhalasz On the Strapi pricing page I don't see the way to use Strapi for free, do you have any clue?

Otherwise I'll implement Netlify CMS since I didn't find any free version for Strapi

there is only a free version as of now, no other version 🙂 the only question is where to host it.. we have used railway for some Strapi projects

I never use railway but it seems they don't offer freemium, do you plan to pay for it?

danielhalasz commented 1 year ago

it seems that it is free if the backend is used under 500 hrs per month.. not sure if that is enough: https://railway.app/pricing but it can be deployed elsewhere too, if you have a better idea.

danielhalasz commented 1 year ago

do you think Netlify CMS is future proof enough? it is much less actively maintained, than Strapi

KevinTss commented 1 year ago

For the use I did it make the job yes. We can try a POC and see how it goes. I'll keep you posted here

Hey Folks,

I've came across the hackyourfuture belgium project a few days ago (btw: are there any poblems with the webpage hackyourfuture.be atm? It only shows a blank page with the title for me) and this issue specially.

Anyway: As I really love what I've read so far about you're project and goals, I would offer you folks to help (if you want of course) with getting started with strapi hosted on railway and netlify for the frontend stuff. As it happens: I'm in the exactly same process for a community-driven webradio and podcast service for our local political movement (just get in touch with me if you want to know more). I do believe we could profit from each other and I would be happy to assist in anything you need.

So if you're still looking into this, just let me now and we cann exchange private contact options to look what we can do. Until then: Cheers from Switzerland and keep up the great work :)

Hi @saintcore 👋

Thank you for your message, really appreciated 😄

We did experience some instabilities few weeks ago but it should be fixed by now. Do you still have issues?

For your information, the website https://hackyourfuture.be will be replaced by http://hackyourfuturebelgium.be very soon. (Both are available for now).

Regarding the CMS, we are going to use Netlifly CMS instead of Strapi at the end. But it will be nice to have your feedbacks anyway if you're open for it, drop me a email (find it on my GH profile) and let's have a chat.

Cheers from Belgium
