Whisper frame #28

There seems to be an issue with the whisper window (if you choose to open a new window on whisper in Interface-> Social).

Sometimes the window pops up, and is empty. It does not show what the person actually whispered.

I would like to add that this mostly seems to happen when in combat (using DBM). Now I'm having no issues, but as soon as DBM starts, the whispers don't come through anymore.

I'll have a look at it, but that sounds like a DBM problem. Do you have lua errors enabled?

I don't, but I can try to enable them for tonight's raid. My download release is set to Alpha in the Curse Client.

Edit: I just tried to whisper myself while standing in Shrine, and the whisper is only being sent in the General window. The extra whisper tab is empty (using the option ''both'' in Social options).

Edit 2: I just completely disabled DBM and same issue.Try to turn on both in line and new tab and whisper yourself. Let me know if you do get your own whisper in the new chat window.

Edit 3: Custom chat channels which are not part of the default FreeUI settings also disappear after each relog. I have to create the tab ''Guild'' every time I log in. This didn't happen with previous releases.

I do not use any additional chat AddOns, so the problem must be on FreeUI's or Blizzard's end.

2 Chat bugs: 1) New whisper windows are empty, they show ''Name-Realm'' (even though I'm on realm that isn't connected to others, and before it didn't show the server name). 2) Custom created channels disappear every time you log out.

Can I ask if you have tested it yourself? Real ID and BattleTag whispers seem to come through in the new tab. However, normal whispers do not.

Sorry, I didn't see your edits, I only get notified of new comments/issues. I'm not seeing any of the issues you are seeing. Have you tried disabling FreeUI and then testing it?

I have just tried disabling FreeUI and the whispers still don't come through. I guess you can close this issue now, although I remain clueless about why this is happening..

Try disabling your addons one-by-one, starting with the ones you suspect could be responsible for the issue. If somehow you disabled all of your addons and the issue persists, you can try resetting your UI from the WoW splash screen. Good luck :)

It seems to be an issue with BadBoy or one of it's plugins. Sorry that i wasted your time!
