Failed update #147

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.opened WP Dashboard page, noticed updates available
2.clicked to update plugins
3.clicked to OK updates

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I haven't had a problem like this one before - I was expecting it to update the
plugin, didn't have any specific expectations of how that would happen.

What version of the plugin are you using? What version of WordPress?
I honestly don't know what version of the plugin I had installed. The version
that I clicked to update for, is whatever the WP update manager was calling
for. I can't see it now, because everything is tied up.

Please provide any additional information below.
It gives me this:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{' in /home/content/[[[PERSONAL WEBSITE
INFO]]]/html/blog/wp-content/plugins/lj-xp/lj-xp-options.php on line 577

I have enough basic knowledge to find a string and replace it, but not enough
to understand what they mean. I can't find the line number to look at to find
where it may be opening the bracket.

I think I figured it out - my blog host was stuck on an old version of PHP. I
went through and rolled the LJXP back until I got to 2.06, which finally made
my WP install work again (the LJXP wasn't working, but the blog would consider
it broken and run without it, instead of breaking down) and then went through
and updated the PHP, my WP install, and then LJXP, which now works just fine
again.
