What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Post anything with crossposting on
2. Observe error 
Error 503 Service Unavailable

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Post is posted, but not crossposted. See error above. I have to restart my 
sever to get rid of it

What version of the plugin are you using? What version of WordPress?
WordPress 3.5.2.
LiveJournal Crossposter 2.3.3

Server is Amazon EC2 Ubuntu 12.04

Oh. error suddenly changed to 
Could not connect to livejournal.com. This post has not been crossposted. 
(-32300 : transport error - could not open socket)
