adding a sprite layer #40

would it be possible to add a sprite layer (allowing both multicoloured and hires) and edit sprites over the top of the bitmap?

This would be really cool. Furthermore, if the sprite layer could be set as background or foreground. In case of using sprite layers in the background, X-stretch and Y-stretch on/off for the sprites would be also super useful.
