I want to be able to click on a node in the 3d graph and have it stay open (and have the node open in a new tab), similar to how the 2d graph works when it's pinned.

Be able to pin the global 3D graph.
Describe alternatives you've considered
A middle-mouse click on a node to open it in a new tab could be sufficient as well.
