I see you already removed the _files entry from gitignore in the previous commit. I think this should actually solve the issue WRT to missing images in the pkgdown deployment.
Merging this one will trigger a new run and hopefully fix things (beside the gitignore update).
With canonical defaults for R, macOS and Windows.
