Can't Use $ in LaTeX in Markdown Cell #1166

In LaTeX, you are normally able to use \$ to insert a dollar sign in the text, but the Markdown cells don't recognize this when using inline LaTeX between the $...$. Is there a workaround for this?

as a quick fix, you should be able to use \mathdollar I think
