I don't get what you mean. The notes are JSON files. You can edit them in a text editor if you like, but that won't be convenient. Or are you using Markdown only?
I'm using .txt and .md notes. I write notes in nvALT and Typed. I'm switching to Quiver now. I want to edit notes in external editor [Typed, iAWriter, Byword, etc], but I want to store all notes in Quiver. It would be great to add shortcut [CMD-Shift-E, for example] to open current note with markdown syntax in external editor.

I see. It makes sense if you only use Markdown. I am considering adding a Markdown note type to Quiver, so I can probably let you edit a Markdown note in an external editor. I see no reason why not.
I do have one question: how do you store images or attachments with your previous system? If I add the support for opening a note in an external editor, the image URLs need to work.
For notes with images I've used Evernote. But I successfully import all notes into Quiver :) So, the external editor should works only for markdown(or plaintext) only notes. For notes with multiple cell types external editor not needed. Thanks!
Thanks. Quiver's Markdown cells let you insert images and they will be copied to the note. But that's okay, I will figure out a solution to the URL issue (it's using a special syntax quiver-image-url/{imageId}
so external editors won't be able to load).
I agree this should only apply to the Markdown note type.
