Last week I wrote about running OpenShift 4 on your laptop. This is using CodeReady Containers (CRC) and deploys a full Red Hat OpenShift into a single VM on a workstation.

One question: Which role plays the ES operator in this tutorial? You install it, but it seems, that it is never used?

thanks for your message!

I followed the OpenShift instructions (https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/openshift_container_platform/4.1/html/service_mesh/service-mesh-installation#installing-ossm) They specifically say to install the ES Operator. I agree with you, it doesn't seem to get used ...
