Fierce Deity anywhere issues #647

Fierce Deity was not intended to be used anywhere in the game, so when we simply allow it, either with an enhancement or eventually in randomizer, we need to identify any places the transformation results in buggy behavior other gameplay issues.

This is intended to be a long running issue until we feel like this feature is generally stable

Soft lock when talking to Archery minigame clerk in Clocktown as FD. Swamp archery is fine.

Certain doors cannot be opened as FD, resulting in a soft lock inside the Stockpot Inn if entered while wearing the mask, or multiple soft locks elsewhere if the mask is worn after entering. Other doors to note are:

Afaik, all other doors function properly as FD.

I don't think I would consider these ones soft locks, as you can just take the mask off right?

while were on the topic here's the known bugs for general fierce deity usage:

In the general game, any non-boss enemy is completely uneffected by the sword beam attack. you also can't do the spin attack that uses magic. guards will block you, use human links dialogue, and then continue to block you

Backwalking while Z-targeting an enemy will cause FD Link to just sort of give up and start over each step. Backwalking while Z-targeting nothing seems to work fine. This is the case with the original game and in 2Ship.

I don't think I would consider these ones soft locks, as you can just take the mask off right?

You cannot take the mask off in many of those locations, so most are actually real soft locks.

I'm by no means an expert on the decomp or the methodology of how this port has been made, but could this not theoretically be solved relatively easily by allowing FD mask to be taken off anywhere? Or would that likely cause more problems than it would solve?
