Hello! What is your end goal with this PR?

If you intended to just get a build running so that you could play, you can create PR's on your personal fork, by creating branches and PR'ing into your own develop branch. We have a guide on this workflow here

If your desire is to see this actually merged into the repository, it will need to come in the shape of some sort of opt-in change, driven by configuration in the menus, you can look at the existing enhancements on how to handle that.

Either way, I don't think it makes sense to keep this open for now, if it's the latter case, feel free to iterate and re-open this when you are ready.

This was meant for personal use, but somehow it ended up on here. Sorry I have no idea what im doing with this stuff lol
