Event or poll DIGIplate #34

Open Josov opened 1 year ago

I would like to use DIGIplate and Node-RED in a project and I have a question regarding the supporting node node-red-contrib-pi-plates. Does the change of an digital input result in a new message from the node or do I need to poll for input changes?

Thank you in advance for your help.

To the best of my knowledge, Node-RED does not support inputs generated by events. So yes, you will need to poll for changes.

Dear WallyWare,

Thank you for your quick reply. I think there is not a theoretical reason why Node-RED should not support it. I think it would be so much better that you don’t need to poll in your application. In the application I need to respond to limit switches and user buttons. Polling could cause trouble when missing an event.

Kind regards,

Met vriendelijke groeten,

To the best of my knowledge, Node-RED does not support inputs generated by events. So yes, you will need to poll for changes.
