Profile Badges and Achievements

I propose the introduction of a Profile Badges and Achievements system to increase student engagement and motivation on Research-Nexas. This feature will reward students who perform exceptionally well or reach specific research milestones, such as submitting a certain number of papers, achieving high evaluation scores, or actively participating in peer reviews and collaborations.

Key Benefits: Encourages Excellence: By awarding badges for significant accomplishments, this system will create a sense of recognition and motivate students to strive for continuous improvement.

Gamification: The addition of a gamified element will make the research process more interactive and enjoyable, fostering friendly competition and a more dynamic learning environment.

Enhanced Profile Visibility: Students can display their badges on their profiles, offering a quick and visual representation of their achievements that can be easily recognized by faculty, stakeholders, and peers.

Proposed Functionality: Badge Criteria: Badges will be awarded based on the following milestones: Submitting a predefined number of research papers. Achieving an evaluation score above a specific threshold. Participating in peer reviews, collaborations, or receiving commendations from faculty.

Badge Display: Badges will be displayed prominently on students' profiles, and users will be able to view their progress towards upcoming badges.

Notifications: Students will receive notifications when they earn a new badge or are close to meeting the criteria for one, encouraging continued participation.

This system will help create a positive feedback loop, where students are continually motivated to engage in research and improve their work through recognition.
