I'm not sure. Blog posts need to be interesting, either from a technical perspective (what's changing with the engine), or from a success perspective (what games have come out built using this engine, and have they been successful). From a technical perspective, only the maintainers of the engine (you primarily), might have something interesting to say, but if selling your work isn't something you're terribly interested in, then it's not worth forcing in my opinion.
From a success / engine usage standpoint, I do think this is an area of opportunity. Does anyone know what games have come out with HaxeFlixel as its engine, and if they are popular / successful? Could we ask developers to submit their games somewhere so we can collect them and highlight them in our blog? How can we do this with as little effort as possible seeing that it's hard to force anyone to part with their precious free time?
Maybe we could have a little script that converts a google spreadsheet to a markdown file and have automated monthly posts with any games that the community submits via a google form. Ultimately the health of this engine is directly tied to the health of the community, so seems to me the best thing to do is to look to the community for content, and if we get crickets, then it's not that the engine is dead, but perhaps it's a sign we're losing the mindshare of developers.
I think the other important thing about Blog Posts is that they should be more visible somehow? Maybe a "latest Blog Post" blurb on the front page? I'm not sure.
We need to start making blog posts again, otherwise the site looks dead. @Gama11 @gamedevsam any ideas how to do this?
