GW2 Launcher creating too much files. #248

Hi since I started to use GW2 Launcher I started to notice increased file size in my SSD. GW2 Launcher takes to the point it is literally enormous. Like when I checked my 52.8 GB free SDD space downed to 49.5 in 1 hour...

I set up close 30 of 40 possible accounts in GW2 Launcher. But the problem is there is temp files that takes 5gb and the problem it keeps getting growing and growing. Since I have limited space in my SDD it really is big problem and for some unknown reason Local Dat 7 ( Where my main account registered ) has a way larger file size in it and somehow it contains opera gx files other than main account files. Which is so weird.

My questions are: 1)Why in the first place Opera GX files was created inside that folder? If I fully delete Opera GX and make a clean install, does it affect GW2 Launcher's working for my main account? (I'm pretty sure I chose different folder path to install Opera GX)

2)Second question should I delete temporary files? A lot of different type dlls and stuffs are inside them.

3)Do GW2 Launcher accumulate unnecessary temporary files while running or each time I login an account?

Thank you for your help. For Reference:

GW2 Launcher file Number 7 Main Acc 2 Number 7 Main Acc

The Opera folder is because you're using Opera for a web browser and used /wiki in-game. GW2 has redirected paths, so when GW2 launches a program, that program takes on GW2's redirected paths. This results in some browsers operating out of Gw2Launcher's folder.

Switch to basic mode (Settings > Guild Wars 2 > Management) if you don't want that, but yes, you can just delete the folder.

The temp folder is where GW2 is storing its cache files used by the launcher/BLTC/CoherentUI. Old files are automatically deleted every few days and with patches (fun fact, GW2 doesn't delete these folders itself, so everyone not using Gw2Launcher unknowingly has a folder for every patch). Each account is going to be around 8 MB minimum, or if you're using the option to give each account its own instance of CoherentUI, it'll be 80 MB minimum (Settings > Guild Wars 2 > Management; this option isn't needed anymore). If you're not using a static cache location (Settings > Tools > Local.dat), a new cache folder is going to be created every time you launch the game. To see a summary and manually delete the cache, right click any account > Tools > Advanced > Delete cache folders.

As long as the account isn't running (the files will be in use), you can safely delete anything from the temp folder and any of the # folders in the data folder.

1) You mentioned: "Switch to basic mode (Settings > Guild Wars 2 > Management) if you don't want that, but yes, you can just delete the folder." After opening this section, in this picture down below, which option should I check or uncheck to switch back basic mode? image_2023-01-14_191658651

2) And if I understood correctly, I can safely delete opera folder inside my gw2launcher without causing any problem to gw2 launcher, I think?

When I delete cache from GW2 Launcher setting, it seems it clears all of cache. However there is still big file of temp folder. And If I go this folder - the file path at below- and simply select it shift+delete and remove the "temp" folder(While no GW2 launcher or GW2 is running). I think it won't create problem for GW2 Launcher. image_2023-01-14_192106488

Sorry for late reply I was busy yesterday. Thanks for your support as always Healix.

Okay is it possible to not GW2 Launcher, launch 2nd opera and instead use current running one?
