On second thought, because Heart of the Machine's biomes are not yet finalized, it is possible that a portal that is made invalid in one update could be made valid again in another update. It might be best not to destroy portals that currently cannot be created in survival if there is a chance they could become valid again.
Instead it might be best to play a sound or something to let the player know that the portal is invalid but not to destroy it.
Currently if a portal exists in a location that has no corresponding Nectere location, then it will simply fail to teleport anything that enters it. This could be rather confusing for people who don't understand how portal connectivity works who might just think that portals are flaky sometimes.
If a portal in a location with no Nectere counterpart location shatters when a player tries to enter it, it would at least indicate that something is wrong with the portal instead of just seeming like a bug.
