I like the idea of more detailed information, but the route already a bit bloated as is. I'm planning on adding a hints system to the editor/routes (something along the lines of hover to show more details) Once that's in place I'm happy to look into this some more

Yeah, I was thinking something similar myself.

The reason I added at most tips the end rather than new lines was to make it visible if the screen is wide enough, but not force you to click again.

the route already a bit bloated as is.

I think it is pretty good really, but fair enough.

I'll leave the PR open in case you want to merge it, but feel free to close and just refer to it later if needed.

Refactored large parts of the original route to use the new sub step system and updated your changes to match.
