I was cleaning out my distfiles and binpkgs today with eclean and noticed that it reported "virtual/libgudev-232" as not having an associated ebuild. It appears "virtual/libgudev" was removed from the mainline gentoo repository.
I manually removed the virtual package, but now gvfs-1.45.3::gnome-next wants to downgrade to gvfs-1.44.1::gentoo, due to unresolved dependencies.
gnome-base/gvfs:0
selected: (gnome-base/gvfs-1.44.1:0/0::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge)
skipped: (gnome-base/gvfs-1.45.3:0/0::gnome-next, ebuild scheduled for merge) (see unsatisfied dependency below)
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "virtual/libgudev:=".
(dependency required by "gnome-base/gvfs-1.45.3::gnome-next[udev]" [ebuild])
gvfs-1.45.3 should work fine with >=dev-libs/libgudev-234, and I suspect you can go back to at least libgudev-233-r1
