HTCC-AB02 pinout diagram suffers from same problem as original HTCC-AB01 pinout diagram #95

As the pinout diagram resource is external to GitHub, but relevant to both this repository and https://github.com/HelTecAutomation/HeltecDocs, I add it as an issue here.

The HTCC-AB02 pinout diagram suffers from the same problem as the original HTCC-AB01 pinout diagram and should be fixed (for HTCC-AB01 it was fixed already).

For a description of the issue and it's importance see issue #55. The HTCC-AB02 pinout diagram suffers from the same problem.

fixed

@wasn-eu

fixed

No, this has not been fixed yet. I still get the same pinout (checked on different devices) with the same problem:

Labels for GPIO15/pin19 and GPIO16/pin20 are drawn at incorrect position which fools the users, making it look like these pins are on the side which they are not. So when people start countin pin positions starting from the top (on the pinout) they will count incorrectly because the pinout fools them.

E.g. VIN is the first pin from the top, not the second pin - but the pinout makes it look that it is the second pin! Same is true for the left-side pin row.

There are now the mentilned red lines showing the position of the pins 19,20,25,26,27,28. If that is not what you thought of please explain

lnlp commented 4 years ago

Ah ok, but that was not my point (and red lines for pins 19 and 20 were already present).

Please see #55 discussions for a description.

I still see this pinout diagram for HTCC-AB02:

capture 2020-05-07 14·46·56

While I expect something similar to this:

Please check and compare the positions of the GPIO/pin number labels and red lines for the User Button and VExt pins:

capture 2020-05-07 14·51·30

This last image is from current HTCC-AB01 pinout (which was previously corrected for the same problem). This image is used as an example (GPIO and pin numbers in this image are different).

Please reopen the issue until fixed.

If i open

https://resource.heltec.cn/download/CubeCell/HTCC-AB02/HTCC-AB02_PinoutDiagram.pdf

There are red lines for those pins

lnlp commented 4 years ago

Please carefully read my above responses and all responses in issue #55 again.

The responses and included pictures very clearly describe the issue.

Apparently many details of above responses get lost in (Google) English to Chinese translation? The pictures are not translated and clearly show the problem. What is there not to understand?

To make it even more clear I have added red boxes (wrong position) and green boxes (correct position) to above pictures.

wasn-eu commented 4 years ago

please stay calm, no need to get rude.

for people used to read those sheets everyday this is clear, but i fully understand that there is a potential for missunderstanding.

you only want to separate the labels for those pins with red lines from the other labels?

I will reopen the issue but we have to wait for somebody from heltec to change it because i dont have the rights to change it on the website.

lnlp commented 4 years ago

I am calm and I am not at all rude.

Thanks for reopening.

Yes there is big potential for error, included for people used to reading such pinouts. It is however not related to misunderstanding by the user, but is related to incorrect visual presentation by the designer of the pinout diagram.

This was already clearly addressed in issue #55 but then for HTCC-AB01. The same problem is now repeated in pinout for HTCC-AB02, which I don't understand because one should have learned from issue #55 how not to do it.

do you think this version is better: image

lnlp commented 4 years ago

Yes, much better.

Additonal suggestions for improvement:

That was only a quick photoshop fix. @Heltec-Aaron-Lee please make this changes in the PDF
