currently, the instructions for installing love simply say:

this doesn't make it clear just which files from that release tag are the correct ones for a given platform, or how to use them
particularly linux has seemingly at least three options: .tar.gz, app image, and compile from source. ideally we make it clear that users do not have to compile from source. figure out which of the other options is most straightforward/ideal, and include detailed instructions on what to do
