When choosing German, keep the regular QWERTZ layout without adding äöüß keys #1190

When I choose German language, the keyboard adds the keys ä, ö, ü and ß. I'd like to access ä via the a key etc and not expand the keys on the regular keyboard display.

There is already a (hidden) option for this, I just searched for the same: In HeliBoard settings go to "Languages & Layouts" -> disable "Use system languages" option and then search for "German". There is a "German QWERTZ" option available which does exactly what we want: Screenshot_20241101-084954_HeliBoard
