I don't think this is related to the keyboard itself. Autofill is a separate android feature.
So the OS populates the top of keyboard with autofill suggestions, without the keyboard having any saying?
@mrx23dot whoops, sorry. I thought you refereed to that drop down lost that appears when you focus an email or password field.
There is other thing, which is a bar google's android authenticator adds on top of the keyboard, but it's not actually part of the keyboard.
To clear confusion, could you please provide a screenshot of what you're referring to? Without actually showing the email or password of course.
I would love if someone else chimed in since I'm not actually confident in my knowledge.

Actually this is autofill, I'd say you're right on this. The password suggestions in the keyboard are called inline autofill.
In earlier version, when clicking in the password field the inline auto-fill will automatically prompt up but now I have to hold press the field and click the auto-fill button in order to prompt up.
This line I mean, can it be speed up showing it?
I just would like to say that I didn't even know there was an inline auto filling for this keyboard before stumbling on this issue.
Does it depend in Android version? I'm still on android 10.
Does it depend in Android version?
Yes, it depends on android version, on and above android 11.
I see. No wonder I never knew about it. I should seriously get to flashing some modern ROM on this device.
Any other features in the keyboard that require modern android versions?
Any other features in the keyboard that require modern android versions?
@KarimElsayad247 Yes, dynamic colors are only available for Android 12+.
e.g. in booking.com app there is no Autofill option provided when long tap email field. So no idea how to autofill it, unless keyboard could force something.
In earlier version, when clicking in the password field the inline auto-fill will automatically prompt up but now I have to hold press the field and click the auto-fill button in order to prompt up.
My issue got fixed, it was related to browser.
Android is slow to start suggesting Autofilling option sometimes.
E.g. I'm standing in a password field, long press Autofill submenu 10 times, nothing happens then many seconds later see the suggestions on top of the keyboard for insertion.
Is it possible to speed this up from the keyboard? is there an OS call to get suggestions?
