Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install some PWA like YouTube in your browser
  2. Open app screen in Volla launcher

Actual results: YouTube PWA was not displayed

Expected results: YouTube PWA should be displayed

Reproducible: Not always, sometimes it doesn't work every 2nd time or every 5th time

Workaround: One can switch between opened apps and Volla launcher and at some point PWA will be displayed

Do you mean Android shortcuts, bookarmks of webpages, that are shown in the app grid? Or do you mean feature of the browser? If it's a browser feature, please post tje issue to the ticket system of Fennec.

I mean PWA that one can install with the "Install" menu option in a browser like Fennec and afterwards the corresponding app will be displayed in the app grid. The issue is that these PWAs are not displayed sometimes in the app grid (please see the description for details).

You have in Fennec an option to add a webpage to the home screen. This is an Android shortcut with no installation of any app. If you reset the launcher, the shorcuts are deleted.

The shortcusts are usually listed in the first app group of the Volla launcher. Let me know, when theses shortcuts ar enot visible.

As I wrote earlier for some websites there is an option to install PWA as well via the "Install" menu item and it is what i used. I don't use the "Add to Home screen" menu item, but I guess these shortcuts are affected as well.

Please send post an example link

As mentioned in the description one can install YouTube PWA from https://youtube.com/

wurzer commented 9 months ago

I can't reproduce it. Please share a screenshot for the installation option in Fennec

Please make sure you open https://youtube.com/ and not https://m.youtube.com/. There is "Desktop site" switch in the three-dot menu for it.
