I suggest you to go check out AirMusic (formerly AirAudio) app. It basically does what I describe above. They are German an look forward to speak with you. For the app to work "the developers would need to ship 2 small files in their ROM", Martin Lehmann of AirAudio writes.
Do you know DLNA, the standard for streaming over a network? Do you know Miracast, the technology that allows screen mirroring that is built-in in Android ASOP?
Well, I would like DLNA to be built-in in Android, just like Miracast is. In other words, an Airplay 2 alternative for Android users.
My use case for audio listening: In order to stream music from my local network (files are on my local NAS storage), the app 'VLC for Android' works perfectly with DLNA. I can select my DLNA speakers as renderer, so the music gets played on my speakers. However for music files that I stream from online music services like Spotify, I can't use VLC. The Spotify app can play the music but I can't cast it to my speaker unless I use Chromecast which VollaOS does not support. A workaround is to use the fabulous BubbleUPnP app that can catch on-the-fly the audio stream from VLC and play it on my speakers through DLNA. However the process is a bit tricky because you have to hit the 'Share' icon to share the stream with BubbleUpnp, for every track you want to play.
So ideally BubbleUPnP functionnality would be implemented at the core of the OS, just like Miracast is. This way, we would be able to cast online music directly from the streaming app (Spotify for example) by clicking the 'Cast' icon as we do with Spotify Connect or Airplay technologies.
