Upgrading to Armbian Rockchip64 Latest Kernel Fails #17

Can anyone get a kernel newer than 4.4 to run? I tried upgrading to the Rockchip64-22.11.1 Kernel 6.0 version (edge) and now nothing.

Any advice is appreciated.

I will be reflashing tomorrow it looks like.

Anytime I do anything like upgrade firmware or upgrade the kernel, I get a blue light and the system just hangs there.

Has anyone managed to upgrade to a newer kernel?

Should this issue be renamed? Docker can be made to work (see other issues). However, a newer kernel would be great so I’d still like to see this resolved. Maybe if we get some answers to #12 we can figure out why the 6.0 kernel isn’t working.

Docker works with the 4.4 kernel. Just update the /boot/armbianEnv.txt to include:

extraargs=systemd.unified_cgroup_hierarchy=0

Is there a reason why the 4.4 kernel is being used? Is there or will there be a way to use a newer kernel? The 4.4. kernel is past end of life.
