Just wondering if there is still ongoing work to port armbian to the first gen helm? Would love to use it as a low power home server. (And Tailscale node)

Any news or progress or should we give up hope?

I think I'm giving up hope quite quickly now

has anyone considered building their own image? BuildRoot or Yosys project anyone? Shawn Hymel from Digikey has a youtube tutorial on it. might be work a look. i have a V2 so can't help. but perhaps we could get the needed info from the creators to pick up the baton and carry it across the finish line

I would build my own image, not difficult, but I would need the unique hardware config settings for the v1 system to be able to build a functional system. More so, without demasking the v1 hardware bootloader, you couldn't push the image to the hardware.

Essentially all of us that were early adopters, and consequently have a v1 system, have a very expensive paper weight. Though I can strip out the nvme drive, looks to be a completely standard 128g drive, I would prefer to have a complete system. I was hoping to make this a dedicated docker system, since it's perfect for it.
