is this worded correctly?

or does it mean

the EFI does need to be able to boot MacOS, just able to show the picker? if it must not be able to boot macos that would mean id have to remove my HD from the computer and run from a usb EFI?

LAbyOne commented 2 years ago

it is correct, and it's ofc related to the driver itself, actually, since a few releases, this has been integrated into OC, so no need anymore to use it as it is. its now obsolete.

@LAbyOne thanks for the reply, however im a bit confused

if i wanted to run this on T440P what would i need to do, will i need to disconnect my macos hard drive? and then boot off an opencore EFI usb, what if the USB has a macOS Big Sur installer on it?

ok i think i am understanding how it is included in the ControlMsrE2.efi tool it seems i need to enable the arguments to say unlock, but i am still confused about this "The EFI must not be able to boot MacOS, it must just be able to show the picker."

so i will wait to try to run it because i dont want to brick my T440P somehow

it just means that the loader will stop at picker before booting... nothing else

@LAbyOne so its safe to run on a system that is capable of booting macOS?
