Waiting on the hosts to send them back.

Episode Blurbs:

Episode 1:

In this first episode we talk about the first two episodes of the series, when we first experienced the show, and experiences we've had introducing the show to others.

Initial descriptions:

The Legend of Portalcast

"Avatar: The Last Airbender is a show that affected me deeply and stuck with me over the years." That’s something we’ve heard from countless people of all ages since the show aired in 2005.

The Legend of Portalcast is a reunion of hosts from the podcast Portalcast that was started over 10 years ago when Avatar: The Last Airbender was airing on Nickelodeon. We all became friends through the Avatar fan forums or connected in person and shared our intellectual, prophetical, and humorous opinions.

In this new podcast, we revisit themes, characters, and episodes from the original series and reflect on how the show has shaped us—from raising kids, to starting businesses, to dealing with loss and grief, Avatar: The Last Airbender has been the common thread.

The Last Dicebenders

The Last Dicebenders is a role playing adventure podcast featuring a custom Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition home-brew created by Alex Tanner called The Last of the Lacers, an homage to the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.

The story takes place 54 years after the events of Avatar: The Last Airbender when Avatar Aang dies and the world is once again without an Avatar. The two players, Jonathan and Abigail, must navigate the bustling metropolis of Republic City as well as the wide world of Avatar.

Host Bios:

Susan Formerly known as "abrightidea", Susan fell down the lemur hole of Avatar sometime in college. She hasn't escaped, and only sucked her daughter with her. A fire bender at heart, but she is surrounded by water benders. Oh well, at least it's not a bunch of airbenders.

Kevin In his time since joining AP, he's become a married man to a wonderful woman, a board certified medical physicist, and an avid curler plotting my path to the 2026 winter games (a man can dream!). He says it seems a bit clichéd, but he still lives his life by the advice and lessons of Uncle Iroh and the other brilliant and complex characters brought to life by Bryke.

Jon Jon is an avid fan of ATLA and anime. A former admin of the fansite Avatar Portal, he now spends most of his time writing a story of his own. He is also a firm believer that pants are an illusion.

Kristen Kristen Mankowski works as a part time informal educator at the National Aquarium. Days off are spent volunteering in animal care and horticulture at the aquarium as well as volunteering in educational programs and horticulture at the Maryland Zoo. During her down time, she enjoys visiting parks with her husband and doing amateur wildlife photography.
