Execute "sudo apt-get install libusb-dev".

Actually:
sudo apt-get install libusb-1.0-0-dev

The other one installs usb.h not libusb.h.

First execute:

export CFLAGS="-fpic"
export CXXFLAGS="-fpic"

Then run configure and make again.
