Is it possible for this tool to be used to reconstruct higher-resolution images from several 3D stacks acquired using fixed cells (i.e. normal confocal microscopy instead of MFM). Also would it be possible to provide an experimentally captured PSF for the same ?

Hi, in oder to get a resolution improvement in z you need the MFM. If you acquire the 3D stack sequentially with a confocal microscope you can just process the images plane by plane to get a resolution improvement in x,y. Z resolution will be still diffraction limited. The key is to be able to observe the fluorescence fluctuations simultaneously in all 3 dimensions and that up to now only possible with an MFM microscope. Let me know if this answer was helpful!
