Hi there Heos,

I got your github page from the guys over at get burst. I am hoping this isn't too presumptuous and you don't think I am trying to be cheeky by posting this, however, I am a complete noob to this and obviously the ones building and creating in the burst community are experts like yourself. However, being a noob means that I am learning from scratch and I am hoping that I can use my noob superpowers to maybe give a perspective from the other side of the expertise scale. Like I said to the guys at Get Burst, I am hoping to document my experiences as I go and then feed that back to guys like yourself, the hope being that I can help to maybe give some constructive criticism to the experts on how to make things easier for noobs and experts alike to adopt and interact with burst. Which I think, having read a lot about Satoshi Nakamoto is something he would approve of, I mean ultimately blockchain is supposed to liberate the people and ease of understanding, I think is a big part of it.

I missed the whole BTC etc but I think there is massive potential in burst to become the leader and if I can contribute to that I am all for it and I would hope the burst community would be cool with that too. Lifes for learning as they say.

So! With that in mind, I have been twiddling around with Qbundle for the past few months, trying different combinations with my ghetto rig and documenting some of the things which I find good and also urk me a bit. The guys at Get Burst said you were creating a successor to Qbundle and I would really love A. to be an early adopter and B. feedback certain things on how to make it noob proof if that would be ok.

Just to start, here's a few things that I put together tonight which were just small revisions I would have liked to have seen for noob proofing in Qbundle and hopefully you might agree with some of them for Easy2Burst (or maybe you're already thinking about it or have done it, i dunno).

1. Settings option: Display Autotool Popup on new drive detection (when new drive connected to pc). [Tick Box]

Function: Displays popup box on new drive being connected to PC (See autotool below)

2. Settings option: Auto plot resume on next launch of Easy2Burst: [Tick box]

Where a drive was plotting, and the plotting was terminated prematurely, Easy2Burst will resume plotting when it is next opened.

This would like to require an entry to be created in the database which stores the plot file locations. i.e. rather than just the location of plot files it should contain plot status “Complete” or “Plotting”. “Complete” indicates that the plotting is finished. “Plotting” indicates that it is still to be completed. Once the plot file is fully plotted it would switch from “Plotting” to “Complete”, thereby giving Auto plot resume a reference on the status of the plotting.

This would be helpful if the computer restarts due to a power interruption or windows update etc.

3. Settings option: Auto launch Easy2Burst on login: [Tick Box]

Where a PC is restarted or Easy2Burst is closed, when the PC is next logged-in it should auto launch. This would be especially helpful with the option detailed in number 2 above if the machine is set to skip over login on machine start-up i.e. no need to put in password to login to PC. It would allow the PC to start, login by itself and auto launch Easy2Burst. Combined with option 2 above, where a plotting was interrupted, it would then resume automatically making life a lot easier in terms of monitoring plotting.

4. Change to dynamic plotting tool:

It would be beneficial to have dynamic plotting options similar to the ones documented in “Auto tool page 2” below.

In addition it would be great to have dynamic plotting list all the connected drives with tick boxes next to them and the ability to select them all and have the system dynamically plot multiple drives rather than just a single drive. Especially helpful with a new build where it might have 10 plot drives in which case you can select them all, choose to reformat or not, choose to create plot director automatically or not, choose to auto plot them etc.

Autotool popup:

On new drive detected, scan for plot files on drive. If no plot files found, then

Prompt: “Easy2Burst has detected a new drive connected to this PC, would you like to use the Easy2Burst AutoTool” ”

Button Option 1: No

Function: Close Popup

Button Option 2: Goto page 2 of Autotool popup.

Autotool page 2

[Tick Box] Reformat Drive Format Drive

Will auto format harddrive to wipe clean and assign next available letter in windows. Especially good for drives which have been used before. Could be conducted by using Diskpart

[Tick Box] Create Plot Directory

Will automatically create the plot directory [DriveLetter]:\Burst\Plots

[Tick Box] Auto plot Drive in new plot directory.

Will automatically create the plot files. Options for “plot file size” and “free space” like Qbundles dynamic plotting would be advantageous. Also, an option for “Full drive | Single Plot File” would be beneficial also where it would automatically create a full drive single plotfile.

Hello there, this is quite some input. Thank you for that!

Give me some time to process this.

LOL - Oh I have more but I didn't want to seem like an ass. Problem-solving is what I do for a living. I'm an efficiency consultant.

One thing I think could be bloody awesome is the development of some kind of cash setup. Not sure how it could be pulled off but my thinking is that obviously SSD plots faster than magnetic drives, if there were some way to have a plotfile done on an ssd then transferred to the magnetic drive while the next plot was being done (not sure how that would work in terms of bottle necks).

As I identify stuff on Qbundle I hope you don't mind but I will just stick it in this thread so you can take a look.

Good shout on the TP by the Way. FYI, I have just opened a daft project into github @HeosSacer with regards to reboot proofing your blago. Might be something you may like to look at as something with this project you're working on: https://github.com/martinkeat/BlagoAutoLaunchAndStatus
