Useful for those working on other tasks but still want control of the application's commands no matter what app they are in.

I highly recommend using a third-party solution because it allows for a lot more flexibility.

@nriley has recommended FastScript or Keyboard Mastro in another issue. https://github.com/HermesApp/Hermes/issues/159#issuecomment-35162906

This way you can do anything that hermes exposes via applescript, which is to say anything (skip, pause, play, like, dislike, volume control) except switching stations or working with song history.
