I can't reproduce this and have never seen anything like it. Hermes is crashing inside Apple's code during audio playback. It looks like you may have some software installed that is patching Hermes. Please try disabling this software and seeing if you still have the problem (if it goes away, you should contact the author of this software).
Thanks a lot for investigating. I can't imagine what kind of software would be going around patching newly installed programs. Anyway, after restarting the computer (and upgrading to 10.11.5) Hermes is working. Thanks again!
BTW the reason I downloaded Hermes is that Pandora wasn't working in any of my browsers. The reboot fixed that problem too, so this was undoubtedly a system problem unrelated to Hermes.
Now that I have Hermes I like it! Much more convenient than having Pandora hidden away in a browser tab.

Downloaded, opened, signed in with Pandora One credentials, scroll to station, double click, wait a couple of seconds for song to load, CRASH! Subsequent app opens just crash within a couple of seconds. Crash log:
