Provide option to use Race/Class selection drop-down OR include a secondary search widget for subrace

I see there used to be a selection drop-down for these instead of the current search widget. Can we get an option for that tool?

The search widget is fine for someone who already knows exactly what they want, but part of the benefit of this tool is seeing what is available for new players.

An alternative to this could be to include a secondary search for subrace, similar to the subclass selection

This would also eliminate the need for the subrace blacklist

I can see that being useful, indeed! I will see what I can do! I might retain the single widget though as the subclass selection follows a different path, given that in many cases, you make a character that does not yet have a subclass (like a Paladin lvl1/2), but if the race you select has subraces, you are currently mandated to pick a subrace.

One reason I like this as an option is that there are some circumstances where a secondary selection makes things more clear. For instance, with Variant Human. Or, in the case of the new Fizban Dragonborn, being able to select "Chromatic Dragonborn" and then "Red", "Black", "White", etc.

It also allows new players to see what all of their options might be more easily.
