flatpak - aarch64 build #2878

Open 1ace opened 1 year ago

1ace commented 1 year ago

Problem description

currently, the flatpak build only include x86_64, as restricted by the flathub.json

this restriction is unnecessary as the HGL releases on github include plenty of aarch64 builds, so HGL already supports aarch64

Feature description

it would simply be a matter of deleting the flathub.json currently restricting this :)

(of course, there are probably be going to be some issues especially with dependencies, but hopefully it won't be too much work to get it sorted)

I don't see any aarch64 builds there. I also think a ARM version would not make much sense. Heroic is a Games Launcher. While heroic itself can probably be ported to ARM, to different stores don't provide ARM Binaries of their games, so you would end up with a Launcher without Games.

If an arm64 version of heroic were made, it could implement box64/86 to support non-native arm games (to be honest, they are 99.9%).

Yes, the box projects are great but sort of fails for the end user because in terms of gaming because there is no unified launcher or similar to that for the non techy person to run these games. Portmaster are excellent but are limited to the ArkOS project that involves a few handheld arm devices.
