Black Myth WuKong on Mac has error: please use the epic launcher to start the game

Describe the bug

I installed the latest version of Heroic and tried it with Crossover and Whisky on my Apple M1 Pro. I could see the WUKONG icon on the Dock and it showed the error"Please use the Epic Launcher to start the game. Connection to the internet is required." Other Wine options like GPTK had the same problem.

Steps to reproduce

1. Go to 'library'
2. Click on 'Black Myth WuKong'
3. Wait
4. See error "Please use the Epic Launcher to start the game. Connection to the internet is required."

Expected behavior

I can start the game and play it.

Had the same issue but it resolved itself. My take on this is it was an issue with the authentication servers of epicgames as I even had trouble just logging in with a browser. After a few hours everthing was normal again.

The error was fixed in Heroic 2.15.2
