Was there ever any update on this? It looks like the lighting is what's effecting this issue. When I move my character to a light source the lines start to show up. Only work around I have found right now is based off making the lines thicker and standing near a light source.
I can't find any solution to this problem. It seems that all mods which do this kind of overlay don't work with shaders.
I also tried different shaderpacks (SEUS, BSL, Sildurs Vibrant) and all have this problem. Is there any known fix or workaround? Not being able to use shaders is bad, but not being able to use CUI is even worse.
Edit: I found a workaround! Simply lower your Mipmap levels in the video settings to something lower than Maximum and the selection will appear. It's still kinda glitchy, but at least you can see what you're selecting.^
Edit 2: Unfortunately, this only works for a short amount of time. After moving around a bit, the selection will become invisible again. It also seems that this is unrelated to Mipmap levels, but changing ANY setting that causes a reload with a loading screen (like Mipmap levels) will make the selection appear for a short time until you move around.
I can confirm this issue. Although even with shaders deactivated the borderlines are so thin I have to increase the border strength from 0.8 to 1000.0 to see them properly. Using any resource pack doesn't make a difference. I tested that with a fresh .minecraft folder and only the following mods installed:

Any update on this? Would love to be able to use this with my shaders.

Issue is still present, can't see lines with shaders turned on
When I activate a shader, the cui doesn't work. Any solutions?
